Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

Equine Assisted Therapy Indoors

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning. Through this type of intervention, participants learn about themselves by participating in activities with horses, then processing their feelings, behaviors and patterns.

This approach helps people discover their joy, passion, creativity and dreams. EAP is similar to life coaching, but has the added value of horses as teachers. This helps those who have experienced trauma, are struggling with finding direction, feeling stuck, stressed out, tired, unhappy or experiencing conflict.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can lead to:

  • Identifying and releasing blocks and limitations
  • Learning how to move past fear and doubt into peace and calm
  • Learning to trust and believe in yourself again
  • Exploring and learning tools for building healthy relationships
  • Discovering and learning how to change a person’s perceptions to change the results
  • Changing negative self-talk
  • Improving teamwork

The overall goal of the EAP program at Timber Creek Therapies is to build resilience, and improve social skills, overall behavior, and relationship dynamics to support our clients’ emotional growth and development.
